Jamie is one of our new team members at Olson Orthodontics! We are glad to have her join us. Below is a little bit of information all about JAMIE!
What led you to your current role?
I have worked in the dental field for 15 years both in general practices and in orthodontics. I heard that Dr. Lauren was looking for a new team member, and I had heard wonderful things about her and her office so I reached out to her and here I am. I’m very grateful to be a part of her amazing team.
Where are you from? If not O’Fallon what brought you here?
I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Illinois. I moved Belleville with my husband in 2002. He was from Salem, Illinois, and Belleville was kind of right in the middle of both of our families.
Did you have braces? For how long? Did you have clear or colored rubber bands? Head gear? Did you really use the floss threaders like you’re supposed to?
I did wear braces for about a year. I was an adult so I was really good about my elastics and flossing.
What job could you never do?
I could never do anything that involved heights or snakes. Nope. 😊
If Olson Orthodontics didn’t exist and you needed a totally different career, what would be another dream job?
If Olson Orthodontics was not around, I would love to run a little bakery.
What’s the last book you read? Movie you watched?
The last book I read was 10% Happier, and the last movie I watched was Black Panther.
What was your first concert? Best concert?
The best concert I was at was Pearl Jam at Wrigley Field! It was an amazing night!
What celebrity has the best teeth?
There are way too many celebrities with beautiful teeth to pick just one.
About what are you most proud of Olson Orthodontics?
Everyone that works here is so nice and so caring. It really feels like a family.
Do you have any pets? What are their names?
We don’t currently have any pets. Hopefully, that will change one day.
If you want to surprise someone, what do you tell them about yourself?
Either that I have tattoos or that I have 2 boys that are 10 years apart in age.
When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I always wanted to be a teacher when I was young. I use to play school all the time.
What do you think is the best advance for orthodontics in recent years?
I think the best advances in orthodontics in recent years would probably be clear brackets. It gives people who are embarrassed about metal braces the opportunity to get braces and enjoy how they really blend in with their teeth and smile.
