Dr. Lauren Olson: In the News with Carrollton Bank

Have you seen Dr. Olson on the Carrollton Bank commercial?

Dr. Lauren has been recently featured in one of Carrollton Bank's commercials. It was a unique experience in that during filming of the commercial, she and Laura just sat at a table and talked for 30 minutes. It was not scripted or had any per-set guidelines other than to just sit there and talk!

Dr. Lauren Olson has been with Carrollton Bank for over seven years and she has served on the Advisory Board for the O'Fallon Branch for the last three years. She still attends the board meetings as an alumni member. Dr. Lauren loves her relationship with the bank, and the personal service that her banker, Laura Beckman, provides has been terrific!

To Dr. Lauren, Carrollton Bank feels much like her own business. It is based off one on one interactions, a family friendly atmosphere where you are known and respected, and most of all friendly employees that are ready to serve and make your experience a great one!

Becoming an Orthodontist

The path to becoming an orthodontist requires many years of hard work and dedication. So how did Dr. Lauren get where she is today?

Dr. Lauren Hood-Olson's Path to Orthodontics

Dr. Lauren graduated valedictorian of her high school. Then, she attended Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville, where she was awarded the Chancellor Scholarship. In addition, she received one of two positions for early acceptance into the School of Dental Medicine.

Mission of Mercy

Dr. Olson has been a member of the local planning committee that has met over the last year and half preparing for the Illinois State Dental Society Foundation's Mission of Mercy. She served for the entire mission that will take part at the Gateway center in Collinsville. It was a first come, first serve dental clinic that provided care to thousands of patients at no cost. Dr. Lauren knew that it was going to be a hot, long several days of preparation, patient care, and tear down, but she was very excited to see all the patients being served during Southern Illinois's first dental mission of this magnitude. This was a huge undertaking accomplished by the support of volunteers, donors, businesses, local authorities, and doctors from all over the state of Illinois.

The Mission of Mercy was a huge success! Dr. Lauren stated, "The rough totals were 640 patients on Friday, 848 patients on Saturday, and over 1 MILLION dollars of dental services provided. It's been a blessing to serve on the local committee and along side all the amazing ISDS staff and doctors that made this happen for the last couple years. My whole body is sore, my feet hurt, and definitely could use a nap today - HOWEVER this mission made a difference in this community and helped people to smile?."
